The opening of Pendell Commons, a 73-unit affordable housing community, was announced during a ceremony Tuesday in the Town of Poughkeepsie. The $14 million project was funded by loans from from the Community Perservation Corporation, tax credit equity from Raymond James Tax Credit Funds Inc., a $1.95 million contribution from New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation and a $615,000 grant from Dutchess County. All 73 units have been rented since the complex opened one year ago. The development includes a three-story building with 24 one-bedroom senior apartments and three two-story buildings with two- and three-bedroom apartments for 48 families. There’s also a playground and gazebo out front.
