Oregon: Affordable housing project moves forward with broader scope

Clackamas County officials were disappointed in 2008 when financing fell through for an effort to rehabilitate the Easton Ridge Apartments, an affordable housing complex in Happy Valley. Today, they’re relieved. “It was a blessing in disguise,” said Trell Anderson, executive director of the Housing Authority of Clackamas County. “It allowed us to take a much broader scope with the project.” The $9 million project, expected to start next month, will involve renovations of Easton Ridge’s 12 buildings, which were built in the late 1980s.
