WHEDA Foundation awards $500,000 to special needs providers

Wisconsin’s housing authority said Monday its foundation is awarding $500,000 in grants to special-needs housing providers in the state. The grants by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority’s WHEDA Foundation Inc. are intended to help housing providers build new facilities or make improvements to their existing facilities. WHEDA said it is committing more than $100 million to the “Transform Milwaukee” initiative over the next two years with the goal of restoring economic vitality to the industrial, residential and transportation areas connecting Milwaukee’s 30th Street Industrial Corridor, Menomonee Valley, Port of Milwaukee and aerotropolis development area around Mitchell International Airport.
