Affordable housing fund doles out $34M

The Bay Area Transit-Oriented Affordable Housing Fund, a $50 million loan program, is now in its second year and about $34 million deep in commitments. The program has experienced a spurt of interest from affordable housing developers in recent months now that local and state funding sources have dried up or gone away, said Brian Prater, managing director of the Low Income Investment Fund in San Francisco, which oversees the loan program.
