Pittsburgh Housing Authority fast tracks Addison Terrace project

The Pittsburgh Housing Authority board voted today to speed up the demolition and reconstruction of Addison Terrace in the Hill District. Rather than rely on federal tax credits and space the project out over as many as eight years, the authority will work with the state to issue bonds and borrow the funds needed to build 400 new apartments by 2017. They will replace 734 dilapidated units.
