NYCHA: Heat, Hot Water Restored To All Public Housing Buildings Affected By Sandy

The New York City Housing Authority announced this evening that heat and hot water has been restored to all public housing buildings affected by Hurricane Sandy, three weeks after the storm swept through the city. Thousands of public housing residents remained without heat or hot water over the weekend, as the authority worked to restore heat and hot water to the remaining 4 percent of the 386 buildings affected by the storm. NYCHA officials also say 97 percent of the 699 elevators impacted by the storm are back up, compared to 95 percent on Friday.
